"Wonderful Life" es una de esas bonitas canciones que se quedan, que permanecen, que llegan y pasan a la posteridad como una de las destacadas de su época, por calidad, por sonar atemporal y por ese aire nostálgico que nos acompaña a lo largo de nuestras vidas. Al menos en mi caso todo eso significa este tema.
Corría el año 1985 cuando Colin Vearncombe, un cantante y compositor inglés, grabó y editó de manera independiente "Wonderful Life". Aún siendo de un artista poco conocido y de un sello pequeño el tema entró en listas aunque por la parte baja. Llamó la atención suficiente de un ejecutivo de A&M que decidió ficharle y darle una oportunidad. Dos años más tarde se volvía a editar con algunos cambios (un tempo más lento y menos acompañamiento musical) y el tema se colaba en el Top-10 británico y sonaba en media Europa.
Colin, o Black como se hizo conocer, no volvería a lograr otro éxito de esa entidad pero ha seguido ligado al mundo del disco. Eso si; "Wonderful Life" ha pasado a la posteridad.
