La Canción De La Semana "SUMMERTIME IN THE LBC" The Dove Shack

Me voy atrás en el tiempo, es verano de 1996, he vuelto de la mili y digámoslo de alguna manera empieza una nueva etapa para mi (y para varios de mi gente que por aquellos días estaban mas o menos como yo). Quizás la etapa mas dura y decisiva, se terminan "los días de juventud" y la cosa se pone seria; trabajo, responsabilidades, madurar, crecer...

Pero aquel fue uno de nuestros últimos veranos antes de empezar a dar pasos mayores. Y como no podía ser de otra manera la música está siempre presente. Canciones que han quedado como tu banda sonora original y que tienen un significado personal para ti.

En aquellos días de verano nos pasábamos parte de la noche en la calle, charlando y haciendo payasadas hasta altas horas. Aún vivíamos todos en el barrio, nuestras casas a unos minutos unas de otras. Soñábamos con el futuro, cantábamos, nos reíamos hasta llorar y nos hinchábamos a Burman-Flash (los polos de hielo). Buenos tiempos, si señor.

Con esto no quiero decir que ya no hubieran mas fiestas, todo lo contrario, pero aquel momento con 19-20 años fueron grandes. Los que vinieron después fueron eso; diferentes.

Y como canción para poner ritmo a todos esos recuerdos pues he elegido una que oímos bastante aquel año; "Summertime In The LBC" de un grupo llamado The Dove Shack que habían sido presentados por Warren G el año anterior. Aquí ayudados por la voz de Arnita Porter que no sé quien es pero que lo borda.

Eran un grupo de gansta-funk, de la costa oeste y en esta canción le cantan precisamente al buen rollito de estar con los colegas... con putas, fumando hierba y haciendo barbacoas.
