Ha tenido desde sus inicios en los primeros 90 mas de 20 miembros pero rara vez alguno de ellos ha destacado para el gran público. Ninguno de ellos a parte de su figura principal claro y es que Jay Kay es un tío singular; desde sus extraños sombreros hasta sus pasos de baile pasando por su colección de super coches, pero siempre destacando con sus temas y su voz (a la que compararon con Stevie Wonder en su single "Too Young To Die").Hoy en día Jamiroquai es asociado directamente a él.
Comenzaron en la escena de clubs ingleses junto a grupos como Brand New Heavies o Incognito y dieron el salto definitivo en 1993 con su primer álbum "Emergency On Planet Earth", un disco con cierta conciencia verde y que tuvo un buen éxito. Desde entonces han venido 5 lp´s mas y un grandes éxitos y un buen puñado de hits que nos hacían (principalmente) bailar puesto que el espíritu de la banda siempre ha sido el funky.
Pero la canción que he elegido de ellos en este caso es una fabulosa balada de su segundo disco: "The Return Of The Space Cowboy" de 1994 y que ha sido uno de mis temas preferidos desde entonces. Se llama "Half The Man" y es absolutamente genial.
Ojalá se decidiese a hacer un álbum mas soul.
