La Canción De La Semana "SAY YOU'LL BE THERE" Spice Girls

Corrían los primeros días de verano de 1996, habíamos ido de compras a la calle Tallers de Barcelona y nos habíamos hecho con algunos singles de importación. Uno de nosotros compró uno por unas "quinientas pelas" de la época, se titulaba "Wannabe" y lo cantaban 5 chicas inglesas. Recuerdo ir en el coche del primero que tuvo carnet de conducir con una radio cd (aún no teníamos reproductor de cd's en la radio del coche) sonando a todo trapo con aquel tema pegajoso; "if you wanna be my lover..."

Semanas después aquella canción era número 1 en 30 países y aquellas 5 chicas se convertían en uno de los mayores fenómenos de fans de la historia.

Lo reconozco; me gusta el primer disco de las Spice Girls. Hará un par de días me vinieron a la mente, lo metí en mi Ipod y me lo llevé al trabajo. Años después no sólo sigue sonando fresco y desenfadado, si no que si lo comparas con mucha de la música comercial de los últimos 10 años suena mejor. Mucho mejor.

Las Spice Girls fueron uno de tantos grupos creados a partir de castings, 5 chicas que no se conocían y que venían de distintas realidades fueron reclutadas y pulidas hasta conseguir un producto apto. Se les acompañó de algunas buenas canciones y de producciones de calidad y la maquinaria del marketing hizo el resto. Lo del "Girl power" fue un acierto total y pronto se convertían en las heroínas de millones de jóvenes en todo el mundo.
