La Canción De La Semana "I KEEP FORGETTIN'" Michael McDonald

Michael McDonald es uno de esos llamados "blue-eye soul", cantantes blancos con alma de negro. Ya en Steely Dan como corista o en los Doobie Brothers demostró sus capacidades, cantando, componiendo y produciendo. A principios de los 80 comenzó su carrera en solitario con el álbum "If That's What It Takes" que contendría una de esas canciones que han pasado a la historia y ha sido utilizada en multitud de ocasiones como sample.

Para este tema se usaron varias frases de una canción con idéntico título, compuesta por Leiber y Stoller en los años 60, lo que finalmente acabó incluyéndolos en los créditos. En el tema aparece su propia hermana Maureen haciendo coros.

El disco tenía además colaboraciones de gente como Louis Johnson, el grupo Toto, Greg Phillinganes o los vocalistas Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins o Brenda Russell.
