Mungo Jerry es una banda británica que para el resto del mundo casi podría ser tildada de "one hit wonders" pero en su Inglaterra natal tienen algún que otro tema conocido, aunque ninguno comparable con este "In the summertime" que pegó mucho en 1970... y en veranos posteriores ya que se trata de una alegre canción de esa festiva época del año.
Su voz principal, Ray Dorset, es el único que se ha mantenido en la formación desde el principio y por ella han llegado a pasar cerca de 40 músicos.
