La Canción De La Semana "I SWEAR" All-4-One

Los primeros años 90 fueron ricos musicalmente hablando en cuanto a la vuelta a los orígenes en el mundo del r&b. Grupos como Boyz II Men marcaron tendencia y lograron vender discos de la misma manera que lo hacían los grandes nombres del pop. Sacándole el polvo de encima a los viejos ritmos "doo-woop" y dándoles una manita de pintura para hacerlo sonar "cool" en esos cambiantes 90.

"All-4-One" trataron de seguir la estela de los 4 chicos de Philadelphia y, al menos en su primer álbum, lo lograron. En 1994 Delious Kennedy, Jamie Jones, Alfred Nevarez y Tony Borowiak formaban grupo y debutaban con un cover de un viejo éxito de The Tymes (grupo vocal negro de los años 60) titulado "So Much In Love".

La canción se cuela en el Top-5 (para sorpresa de muchos) y se decide tirar por el lado mas romántico y se busca una canción adecuada para repetir éxito; "I Swear" había sido cantada originalmente meses antes por el cantante country John-Michael Montgomery (preciosa versión) y ahora iba a ser el nuevo single del grupo de la zona del estado de California.

Y ¿tuvo éxito? Pues si; 11 semanas en el número 1 en USA, single de platino, número 1 en varios países de Europa, nominación a la mejor canción del año en los Grammy y una de los temas más laureados de la década de los 90.

Como curiosidad decir que para su segundo disco volvieron a repetir con John-Michael Montgomery al versionar "I can love yo like that".

PD: Incluso llegaron a grabar una versión en castellano: "Juraré".
